Mist
These vines are produced when conventional hardwood cuttings are scarce or unavailable. This method primarily is used with new varieties or special clones. One cutting can be multiplied into enough vines to plant an entire vineyard. They are grown in 4-inch plastic pots and fully conditioned to the outdoors before delivery.
- Each plant has the exact same genetics as its mother plant
- Container is removed before planting
- Roots have direct contact with the soil
- Water and nutrients are immediately available
- Root system directed downward to promote a deep-rooted vine
- Mist propagated vines can be used on their own root where the soils absent of nutrient issues, nematode and phylloxera
